British Jamaican reggae singer and songwriter Julien Marleya and producer Alex Antaeus's musical album, 'Colours of Royal, ' won the title of Best Reggae Album award at the 2024 Grammy Awards. The 66th Annual Grammy Awards 2024 was held at Crypto, Los Angeles on Sunday. It was hosted by comedian Trevor Noah for a fourth consecutive year.

Julien Marley, a son of legendary music icon Bob Marley and Alex Antaeus, was nominated along with the Beenie Man for Simma, Buju Banton for Born For Greatness, Burning Spear for No Destroyer, and Collie Buddz for 'Cali Roots Riddim 2023'.

According to the information, this was the 40th Reggae Award to be presented to the Grammys since it was first included as Best Reggae Recording in 1985. Last time, In 2018, the two persons who were not part of a group that won the Award were Shaggy and Sting’s 44/876.

However, this was marked another achievement the Marley Family recorded. The Marley family has had the most Reggae Grammy awards, with Ziggy Marley being nominated 15 times and winning 8 Best Reggae Album awards.

The Award was received by Alex Anateus only, as Julien Marley was on his Australia tour. While receiving the Award, Anateus was dressed in a black suit and Jamaican-colored scarf. He delivered a heartfelt speech and thanked everybody connected and involved with the 'Colours of Royal' Journey.

The 'Colours of Royal' was launched in March 2023. The album features about seven record tracks by Julein Marley and is produced under Anateus. These record tracks are Jah Sees Them, Robbed, Inna Mood, Made for Your Love, Roll, the Tide is High, etc.

Notably, After winning the Award, Marley and Antaeus expressed their sentiments and heartfelt gratitude for winning and getting this prestigious recognition.

In a heartfelt and warming statement, Julien said, “Thank you from the depths of my heart for the incredible honour of receiving a Grammy. This recognition is a testament to the love and support of my fans, and I am forever grateful. Together, we continue to spread positive vibrations through music. One love.”

While Anex Anateus said, “Honored to have produced Colors of Royal, we created a new chapter in reggae music and were rewarded with this Grammy. Thankful that the people of Jamaica have accepted me as their own. Out of many, one.”
