French journalists get a taste of Dominica’s tourism
Writers got to see developments across the islands

Writers from a selection of French publications have visited the Nature Island to see first-hand the country’s successful tourism product.
The trip, which was made up of a handful of journalists from Guadeloupe, was designed to highlight the new developments in Dominica since the last trip a year ago.
The group was given a tour of the island, visiting the major tourism construction sites in both the north and south – including the Kempinski hotel, which will have more than 150 rooms when complete.
They also met with the Emmanuel Nanthan, coordinator of the Citizenship by Investment Unit, who gave them an overview of the programme and some insight into the government’s vision for tourism development.

Among the media outlets represented were Journal France-Antillescaribcreolenews.com, ZCL TV, Mediaphore, Canal 10 and Newsantilles.com.
Sam Raphael, developer of the Jungle Bay project in the Soufriere area, met with the journalists to reassure them that development would be open for business soon.
The previous Jungle Bay property has been a popular place to stay for the French Caribbean market.
A visit to Bellevue Chopin Organic Farm was part of the itinerary in an effort to demonstrate that Dominica encourages ecotourism as well as the luxury side of the industry.
