Denzil Douglas- leader of St Kitts and Nevis Labour Party

Leader of the Opposition in St Kitts and Nevis, the Rt Hon Dr Denzil L Douglas has called on fathers in the twin island federation and the Caribbean to assume their responsibilities of fatherhood in order to cultivate solid and sturdy societies.

In a Fathers' Day message, Dr Douglas wished a Happy Fathers’ Day to all stepfathers, fathers and grandfathers and noted that fatherhood "is an awesome responsibility, leadership, love, care and example that the good Lord has placed on all Fathers."

"May each of us reflect upon our Holy Parental Calling to create a Strong Home, a Solid Country and a Sturdy Region," said Dr Douglas.

He added: "said a Father to a Son: 'Watch your steps.' The Son replied: 'Dad I am following you.!”
