The Royal Police of Antigua and Barbuda have started interviewing some relatives and associates of missing Indian fugitive Mehul Choksi. The Police have increased search efforts to find missing Jolly Harbour resident Mehul Choksi who was reported missing on Sunday 23rd May 2021. Several close relatives and associates of Choksi were interviewed to gather as much information as possible as to his sudden disappearance. As an added component to the ongoing investigations, the Police administration reached out to both local and regional law enforcement counterparts for assistance on this matter.

Additionally, the Royal Police Force of Antigua and Barbuda (RPFAB) has filed a missing person notice with The International Criminal Police Organization (INTERPOL) for a Yellow Notice to be circulated. A Yellow Notice is a global Police alert for a missing person.

The Police continue to seek the assistance of the public in knowing the whereabouts of Mehul Choksi. Anyone with information is asked to call the Johnson Point Police Station at 562-8942/43 or the Criminal Investigations Department (CID) at 462-3913/14. The sudden disappearance of Mehul Choksi has raised concerns for the Antiguan government. The Indian Crime Bureau of Investigations (CBI) has declared Choksi a fugitive in defrauding Punjab National Bank with $2B. The fraud is the biggest in the country's history.

Prime Minister of Antigua and Barbuda has said that the citizenship of Choksi would be revoked, and the country doesn't want to keep him because he is a 'liability'.

Choksi was last seen at about 5:15 P.M at Jolly Harbour before leaving home in a car which has since been recovered. Based on additional information received, the Police have conducted numerous searches but to no avail. In the missing report, Mehul is described as being of Indian descent, brown in complexion, five feet six inches (5' 6") in height, heavily built with a balding hairline.
