Dominican Minister Melissa Skerrit shares glimpses from her official visit to China

During the meeting, President Xi noted that Dominica is an important country in the Caribbean, as well as a trustworthy friend and partner of China in the region. He said the two countries have always respected each other and treated each other as equals since the establishment of diplomatic ties 20 years ago.
Meanwhile, the Dominican delegation also reiterated its vows to work together in various field with China.
[caption id="attachment_69832" align="aligncenter" width="500"] Dominican delegation in China[/caption] The Minister added that they also met with the Principals of the China Civil Engineering Construction Corporation, which is the firm behind many major infrastructural projects in Dominica."We met with Premier Li Qiang and the Chairman of the National People's Congress Standing Committee, Zhao Leji. We continue to discuss our partnerships and look forward to collaboration on other developmental initiatives to advance Dominica's economy," added Melissa Skerrit.

On Wednesday, they left Beijing after a successful round of meetings and activities and arrived in Boao, Hainan Province, to attend the BOAO Forum for Asia 2024.The significant forum was addressed by Prime Minister Skerrit who called on the world leaders to unite and strengthen cooperation and solidarity to respond effectively to current global financial, economic and social crises.
The Dominican delegation comprises of PM Roosevelt Skerrit, Minister Melissa Skerrit, Minister Dr Irving McIntyre, Minister Dr Vince Henderson, Minister Cassanni Laville, Minister Denise Charles, Minister Darron Lloyd and Permanent Secretary Missi Henderson.
