The authorities stated that 9,381 people have recovered from coronavirus, and there are currently 3,858 active coronavirus cases, with 330 hospitalized.
More than 141,550 coronavirus tests have been conducted in Trinidad and Tobago at both public and government facilities since March 2020. A total of 13,454 tested positive for COVID-19 in the country.
Health Ministry stated that 215 coronavirus related deaths had been recorded in Trinidad and Tobago, with an additional 44 recorded in recent days.
The health ministry stated that 60,245 people have received the first dose of the vaccine while only 1100 have received the second dose.
As per newly released data, 64,320 tests were conducted at private facilities, and the recent number of cases reflects the positive cases from samples taken during 7 and 9 May 2021.
409 people are at state quarantine facilities, while 3,370 are at their homes in self-isolation. The ministry noted that 59 people are currently at the step-down facilities.
Trinidad and Tobago is using the Oxford Astrazeneca coronavirus vaccine, and the country is anticipating receiving additional doses of the Sinopharm vaccine from China.
