Dominica signs visa-waiver agreement with People's Republic of China
The government of Dominica on Monday signed a visa-waiver agreement with the People's Republic of China.

Roseau, Dominica: The government of Dominica on Monday signed a visa-waiver agreement with the People's Republic of China. Prime Minister of Dominica Dr Roosevelt Skerrit and Chinese Ambassador to Dominica Lin Xianjiang signed the agreement.
Kenneth Darroux, Minister of Foreign Affairs, International Business and Diaspora Relations of Dominica and several other officials from both countries attended the ceremony.
With the signing of the visa-waiver access to China, citizens of Dominica will be able to access four out of the world's six biggest economies visa-free.
Dominica is working towards strengthening its diplomatic ties worldwide, and signing a major visa-waiver agreement with the People's Republic of China is a step forward.

Prime Minister of Dominica Dr Roosevelt Skerrit and Chinese Ambassador to Dominica Lin Xianjiang signing the agreement[/caption] Prime Minister Dr Roosevelt Skerrit expressed his gratitude to the People's Republic of China for their continued support in the country's development. Chinese Ambassador to Dominica Lin Xianjiang conveyed warm regards and best wishes from State Councilor and Foreign Minister Wang Yi. He said both countries share 17 long years of diplomatic relations, mutual respect and more. Ambassador Lin Xianjiang said that the People's Republic of China is pleased to sign the agreement and looks forward to future endeavours. China had been a great friend to Dominica. Besides having its own challenges, China continued its commitment and provided support to Dominica even during the pandemic by delivering COVID-19 testing kits, vaccines and other medical supplies. The facility has one of the finest medical amenities in the Eastern Caribbean. A month ago, Dominica became the first country in the region to have an MRI machine at a public hospital. The machine, which was donated by China, added a new stone to the bilateral ties. The two countries share friendlier collaboration in culture, education, and health. China continues to provide Dominica with state scholarships and human resources training programs.
