Situated between the French island of Guadeloupe and Martinique, Dominica is the youngest island in the Lesser Antilles and boasts around 290 square miles of nature. Dominica has a river for every day and peaks that are as high as 5 thousand feet above sea level. Dominica has been nicknamed the "Nature Isle of the Caribbean" for its natural environment.
Much of Dominica is protected since it is such natural beauty and Morne Trois Piton National Parl is UNESCO World Heritage Site with not only rainforests but also one of the largest boiling lakes in the world, hot sulphur springs for mud baths and several of the major 12 waterfalls are located on the island.
Sixty percent of the island is covered by rainforest and it is one of the finest places to admire nature while hiking and bird watching. There are over 170 different bird species on the island to be discovered and the Sisserou parrot, also known as the imperial amazon and found only on Dominica, is the island's national bird and featured on the national flag.

There is also a champagne beach where you can go for scuba diving.
If you are into whale watching you have come to the right place as well as sports fishing. For whale watchers, the best time to visit is from November to May when the majestic sperm whale or the humpbacks visit the island.
