The prime minister of St Lucia has said reports of him collapsing while at the United Nations over the weekend are untrue.
Stories circulating online on social media and news websites state that Allen Chastanet’s health issues meant the UN Global Compact Leaders Summit had to be cut short.
NYDailyNews-TV.com said that the prime minister excused himself “midway through a presentation before collapsing in the hallway just outside the meeting.”An EMT looked after him until an ambulance arrived, the report added.
But any issues of health has been refuted by Chatanet.
“I wish to assure St Lucians that this article is completely fabricated and I am in good health and at no time collapsed during my attendance at the United Nations General Assembly,” Chastanet said in a statement.
WIC News understands that the prime minister left for Canada after attending several meetings in New York City.Latest
