St Kitts and Nevis police investigate alleged assault
Young woman 'was physically and sexually assaulted'
Police in St Kitts and Nevis are seeking information following the alleged assault of a juvenile.
“Police investigations so far have revealed that on Tuesday afternoon [14 March] in the Basseterre area, two men approached a female juvenile, one with what appeared to be a gun and the other with what appeared to be a knife. They physically and sexually assaulted her then fled the scene,” said a police statement.
It added that police investigations into the matter are ongoing, but the assistance of the public is very critical in solving this case and others.
“As a result, persons with information regarding this incident are asked to contact the Special Victims Unit at the Basseterre Police Station at telephone number 465-2241 ext4232/4252, or by dialing 665-3091 or by contacting your nearest Police Station."
There was a report Thursday morning that an 11-year-old student was raped by two men. A media house also reported the rape of a female in the Taylors area. WIC News has been unable to confirm these reports.
It could not be determined earlier Thursday if both reports stemmed from the same incident.
