PM Rowley receives first jab of Sinopharm vaccine
Prime Minister of Caribbean country Trinidad and Tobago Dr Keith Rowley received his first dose of the Sinopharm vaccine at the Diego Martin Health Centre this morning (Tuesday 13th July, 2021).

Trinidad and Tobago: Prime Minister of Caribbean country Trinidad and Tobago Dr Keith Rowley received his first dose of the Sinopharm vaccine at the Diego Martin Health Centre this morning (Tuesday 13th July, 2021).
Prime Minister, after vaccination, urged people of T&T to vaccinate themselves, as there is no shortage of vaccines now in the country.
Notably, 800,000 Sinopharm vaccines from China arrived in Trinidad and Tobago at approximately 12:21 pm on Tuesday.
Foreign and Caricom Affairs Minister Dr Amery Browne, “The Alitalia (Boeing 777) aircraft has just landed in TT with 800,000 doses of WHO-approved Sinopharm vaccines acquired for the people of our nation.”
Additionally, This is the third shipment of Sinopharm vaccines to arrive in TT. The first shipment of 100,000 vaccines was a gift from the Chinese government, which came on May 19. The second shipment of 200,000 vaccines was bought by the government and arrived in TT on June 14.
According to the vaccination statistics, as of 12 July 2021, there are a total of 225,546 individuals who have received their first dose of the COVID-19 vaccine, which is around 16.2 per cent of the total population, whereas a total of 140,568 individuals who have received their second dose of the novel coronavirus vaccine and are fully vaccinated now against the deadly mutant which is around 10.1 per cent of the total population of Trinidad and Tobago.
Importantly, The Prime Minister of the island has also urged the citizens to follow the COVID-19 guidelines such as – wearing masks, maintaining social distance and sanitizing frequently. In addition, PM Rowley has also encouraged people to take their doses of the COVID-19 vaccines so as to fight and defeat the contagious mutant.
Moreover, PM Rowley said that in the next few weeks, they have been going to had as many vaccines as they require to vaccinate those persons who might come forward.
