Antigua: Bendals men charged over cannabis haul
Unlicensed guns also uncovered
Police in Antigua have charged a number of men with a string of drugs charges after a major haul of cannabis.
Troy Neeland Baptiste, 31, and 21-year-old Daiquan Kahtaj Martin – both of Bendals – have been slapped with possession of 149 cannabis plants, possession of 310.2 grams of cured cannabis and cultivation of cannabis.
The pair were also charged with possession of an unlicensed pistol and eight rounds of ammunition.
Darren Craig Pelle, 28 and of Bendals was also charged by the Royal Police Force of Antigua Police for having 1.75 pounds of cannabis in his possession, as well as the cltivation of 35 cannabis plants.
Meanwhile, Akeem Jahlan Richards, another Bendals man, was charged with possession of 165 cannabis plants, cultivation of cannabis, and being concerned in the supply of cannabisUnlawful.
Richards was also in the frame for possession of two camouflage jackets and trousers.
On Friday, Police carried out several intelligence driven operations at Bendals and found the illegal items in their possession.
They were all arrested and taken into custody.
