Police arrests 9 for breaching COVID-19 curfew in Trinidad and Tobago
Trinidad and Tobago police on Sunday arrested nine people for breaching the curfew across the country. The arrested includes eight men and one woman.

Port-of-Spain, Trinidad and Tobago: Due to rapidly increasing coronavirus cases, Trinidad and Tobago is currently under a strict lockdown followed by a restrictive curfew. Only people with essential jobs are allowed to commute on the roads.
Trinidad and Tobago police on Sunday arrested nine people for breaching the curfew across the country. The arrested includes eight men and one woman.
Authorities stated on Sunday that the arrests had been made in the last twenty-four hours in five policing Divisions over.
Police stated that a 65-year-old Belmont man and a 32-year-old St. James woman were arrested in the Western Division, and an a30-year-old Arima man was arrested in the North Eastern Division.
Besides this, two 40-year-old men, one from St. Joseph and the other from San Juan, were arrested in the Northern Division. A Princes Town man was also captured in the Eastern Division.
Authorities stated that two Point Fortin men, ages 40 and 33 and one 48-year-old men from Penal, were arrested in the South Western Division.
The Trinidad and Tobago Police Service also urged citizens to adhere to the Emergency Powers and Public Health Regulations and welcomed information on possible breaches.
Prime Minister Dr Keith Rowley had imposed a restricted lockdown in the country, restricting all types of gatherings travelling across the country. Under the new restrictions, only selective essential businesses can operate. A state of emergency is also imposed.
