The most awaited People's Labour Party's 6th convention gathered enormous support in Basseterre on Saturday evening. The People's Labour Party leader and the Prime Minister of St Kitts and Nevis also shared highlights of the event on his Facebook page. He thanked everyone for showing an overwhelming show of support at the 6th Annual PLP Convention in Basseterre.

Prime Minister Timothy Harris stated that "People's Labour Party is the strongest because we are a party for all,". He also called the convention so positive and uplifting. He also called the convention so positive and uplifting.

He also thanked the People's Action Movement (PAM) and the Concerned Citizens Movement (CCM) for their support.

"Under the previous administration, cheques to the Nevis Island Administration bounced, not so since Team Unity took up the reins," said the Prime Minister.

The convention was hosted by Party Chairman Warren Thompson; the PLP Youth Jeremy Burke also played an integral part in the successful event.

Michael Lee-Chin, OJ, OOnt, a Jamaican-Canadian billionaire businessman, attended the People's Labour Party convention on Saturday evening. He was among the key speakers to address the PLP supporters at the major event.

Chin is famously known for his philanthropist efforts and is also the Chairman, CEO of Portland Holdings Inc, a privately held investment company in Ontario, Canada. He was also appointed to the Order of Ontario in 2017.

His company manages public and private equity and has an ownership interest in a collection of diversified businesses operating in sectors that include financial services, insurance, media, tourism, agriculture, real estate development, and targeted radio nuclide therapy.

Michael has received Doctor of Law degrees from a number of distinguished universities in Canada and Jamaica. He is the recipient of the Order of Jamaica and the Order of Ontario. He served as Chancellor of Wilfrid Laurier University from 2011-to 2016. In 2016, Michael was appointed Chair of the Government of Jamaica's Economic Growth Council.
