Pedestrian killed on F T Williams Highway identified
The pedestrian killed on the spot during a vehicle accident on the F T Williams Highway on Friday night has been identified as Hement Saffee of Shadwell, St Kitts.
A police statement on Saturday said an investigation into the fatal traffic accident that occurred along the F.T. Williams Highway in the vicinity of Gillard Meadows was underway.
"The accident occurred at approximately 11:30 p.m. and involved motor car P 7226 driven by Diamond Williams of Greenlands and pedestrian Hement Saffee of Shadwell," the statement said.
Police disclosed "that motor car P 7226 was traveling east along the F.T. Williams Highway and when it got in the vicinity of JAM’s Welding Shop, a pedestrian was crossing the road and was struck by P 7226."
Emergency Medical Services and a Medical Examiner were summoned to the scene. The Medical Examiner pronounced Saffee dead.
Police said the driver of P 7226 was taken into Police custody to assist further with the investigation into the matter.
