Saint Lucia: Cooking gas increases to $281.80, know new fuel prices

As effective today, the price of the 100-pound cylinder weighing 45.36 kg increased from $274.38 to $281.80 per cylinder.

Saint Lucia: The Government of Saint Lucia has announced changes in the retail price of fuel products, with the prices of 100 Pound Cylinders and Bulk (Wholesale) LPG witnessing a minor increase.  Effective from today, the price of the 100-pound cylinder weighing 45.36 kg increased from $274.38 to $281.80 per cylinder. The cost of Bulk (Wholesale) LPG increased from $2.61 per pound to $2.69 per pound.  According to the information, the retail price of Gasoline, Diesel, Kerosene, and the LPG 20 lb and 22 lb cylinders remains the same as earlier.  While notifying the general public, the Government of Saint Lucia said that in keeping with changes in international prices as well as the Government’s application of the modified market pass-through petroleum pricing mechanism, the retail price of two products has changed. 

According to the Government, the new prices of fuel products in Saint Lucia as of March 4 will be as follows:

  • Gasoline remains the same at $3.63 per litre or $16.50 per gallon
  • Kerosene remains the same at $2.58 per litre or $11.72 per gallon
  • Diesel also remains unchanged at $3.63 per litre or $16.50 per gallon
It was also announced that the 20 lb Cylinder weighing 9.07 kg is being subsidized at $20.36 per cylinder while the 22 lb Cylinder weighing 9.98 kg is being subsidized at $22.40 per cylinder.  The Saint Lucian Government said that the 20 Pound Cylinder weighing 9.07 kilograms remains the same at $36.00 per cylinder, and the 22 Pound Cylinder weighing 9.98 kilograms remains the same at $39.60 per cylinder.  In addition to this, the Government also informed the public that the next adjustment of the retail price of fuel products will be on Monday, March 25, 2024. The Government assured the residents that they are committed to easing them as much as possible and will be keeping the prices of fuel products as affordable as possible.
