It felt like it was raining notes on the road for a while. People passing by the road parked their cars and started looting dollars. People stopped and began collecting notes. During this, a two hours traffic jam created chaos on that street.
People clash with truck driver
Police officials said the incident happened around 9:15 a.m. on Interstate Highway-5 in Carlsbad when the truck was heading from San Diego to the Federal Deposit Insurance Corp office. Seeing the notes flying on the road, many people parked their cars and packed them. When the driver of the truck opposed it, people got into a scuffle during this.
Bags were filled with another 20 dollar notes
California Highway Patrol Sergeant Curtis Martin said – The incident happened at 9:15 in the morning. There were many bags in the truck, which fell on the road. The truck's speed was fast, due to which the bags were opened, and the notes filled in it started flying on the road.

All the bags were filled with another 20 dollar notes. As soon as the police got information about the incident, they sealed the highway from both sides. The police did this to investigate people. However, after a struggle of about two hours, the road was reopened.
People were dancing in the streets
People were jumping like crazy seeing dollars on the street. It was as if he had won the lottery. Wherever he was, he was collecting the notes with both hands. Many people were shouting for joy with dollars in both hands; sometimes, they were dancing. These included both men and women. Many of these people were making videos along with collecting dollars. These videos have also been uploaded on social media, becoming increasingly viral.
The sergeant warned the people
After the incident, the truck driver informed the Highway Patrol Police. After this, the sergeant who reached the spot warned the people looting the note and asked them to deposit it. Although some people returned the money during that time, some people sat in the car with dollars and fled.
However, the police issued a special warning regarding the incident. He told the people that legal action would be taken against them if they did not return the money to the police. The police appealed to the people to deposit the dollars in his office, or the police should be ready for action.
FBI is investigating the incident
The US investigative agency FBI is also investigating the matter. Officials didn't immediately say how much total money went missing. However, as of Friday afternoon, at least a dozen people had returned the money, the San Diego Union-Tribune reported. Officials said that some people had collected a massive amount of money, which they have returned.
