While addressing people during the convention, Mark Brantley stated, "Truly, it is a privilege to speak at the Peoples Action Movement Convention in Cayon, St Kitts this evening. Thank you for the warm reception PAM".
The theme of the convention was "Keeping the Promise", and Mark Brantley extended gratitude to the People's Labour Party Leaders Shawn Kenneth Richards for giving him the opportunity to speak in the gathering.
He stated, "I recommend not so much a call to arms today but a call to reflection; a call for critical analysis of the country and our policies, where we are standing today and where we want to go. In that context, I emphasized the role of this great PAM Party in building the Federation of St Kitts and Nevis".
Mark Brantley also recognized Kennedy Alphonse Simmonds, and PAM demonstrated good governance and respected the law of Nevis on which the development of the country depends. He emphasized that the architecture for the modern State of St Kitts and Nevis was laid by the People's Action Movement (PAM) as it worked throughout its political history to its commitment to the people of the Federation. So, history showed that PAM has always kept the promise and always taken revolutionized steps.
Mark Brantley stated that the leadership of this great PAM party is now in the hands of Shawn Kenneth Richards as it was Shawn who is one of the principal architects of Team Unity.Outlining the various documents signed for forming Team Unity, Brantley said," We have signed two important foundations documents for Team Unity as Charlestown Accord was drafted by me and signed on the courthouse by Dr Timothy Harris, Leader of the People's Labour Party, Vance Winkworth Amory then Leader of the Concerned Citizens Movement".
He further explained that these documents and the discussions provided a blueprint for governance under Team Unity and formed the core basis of the functioning of the Team Unity Government. It was designed to ensure mutual respect and cooperation between the three political parties of St Kitts and Nevis.
"Thank you all so much for your kind comments. I hope that my words will not be ignored but will become a point of reflection", underscored Mark Brantley.
