Over 11,000 air passengers visits St Kitts for Sugar Mas 52

Over 11,000 passengers arrived in St Kitts and Nevis by air for the celebrations of Sugar Mas 52 - the National Carnival.

The arrivals this year were 2000 more than the last year when compared to the same period. The Ministry of Tourism of St Kitts and the St Kitts and Nevis National Carnival have shown their immense pleasure in witnessing a huge surge of arrivals.The increase in arrivals not only shows the charm of the island nation as a premier tourist destination but also reflects the significance of Sugar Mas to residents, returning nationals as well as international visitors alike.
The carnival has become an annual celebration which lures people to revel in the unique blend of music, culture and unity.

Notably, a number of seasonal employees were also employed during the National Carnival period which included vendors, gate and security personnel.
The SKNNCC also highlighted that restaurants experienced a huge surge in demand during that period, with reservations fully booked to cater to customers wanting to indulge in the local cuisine.
The car rental services also saw a remarkable rise in business, as vehicles were rented to transport guests across the island.On the other hand, the hotels, guest houses and Airbnb also provide comfortable accommodations to visitors from across the world.
The local artisans, entrepreneurs, caterers, photographers, content creators, hair and makeup artists, seamstresses, designers and vendors also enjoyed a major surge in economic activity during the Sugar Mas 52.
To make the Sugar Mas 52 a huge success, the cleaning services played a huge role in maintaining the venue conditions while the infrastructure providers, such as tent and stage rentals, light and sound specialists, bands, DJs and entertainers also played huge roles.
