Mykola Shlapak, a Ukrainian officer, informed the media that the woman was taking shelter at the metro station as the gunfire was raging outdoors, and soon after the police heard her voices, they rushed to her. An ambulance was called, and after the baby was brought to the world, both the mother and daughter were taken to the nearby hospital.
