PM Roosevelt Skerrit commend teachers on "World Teachers Day"

Prime Minister of Dominica Dr Roosevelt Skerrit commended all the teachers on the "World Teachers Day". He shared a long post on his social media handles, thanking teachers for their services and creating a better future for all.

Wishing Happy World Teachers Day, PM said the teachers of Dominica are very hardworking and committed towards their work of educating the children.

He said the provision of high-quality education is now, more than ever, important to the social and economic development of the country.

"As we prepare our citizens to cope with an increasingly complex world, you, the teachers of Dominica, fulfill a most vital role in shaping futures and inspiring success." wrote the Prime Minister on Facebook and Twitter. "Thank you for your commitment to excellence, and for your imagination, passion and energy, on display during these exceptional times. May God continue to bless your efforts." PM Skerrit further added.

He shared the message on Tuesday as the world celebrated "World Teachers Day" under the theme "Teachers at the Heart of Education Recovery".

Even during the pandemic and under lockdowns, teachers continue to provide their services via online platforms. Even though everything was closed, the doors to learning and education remained open.

Many older teachers, who had no connection with the technology, learned the new techniques and continued teaching students through the modern mediums of education. Just like the front-line warriors, many believe that teachers are also the warriors of the pandemic, who gave their services during unprecedented times without compromising the future of the kids around the world.
