Melissa Skerrit donates 18 sports bags to netball players

Roseau, Dominica: Melissa Poponne Skerrit- the parliament representative from Roseau Central constituency, attended a meeting hosted by Ambassador Laureen Bannis Roberts and the National Netball team.
The meeting was held on Tuesday, where the Parliamentarian also interacted with the netball players. She also donated 18 sports bags, complementing the team's brand new uniforms.
"It was a pleasure to deliver a quick pep talk and also to donate 18 sports bags which beautifully complements the national team's brand new uniforms," said Melissa Skerrit.
Furthermore, Melissa Skerrit stated that the year 2021 was a truly fantastic year for local netball players and enthusiasts, "It saw the official commissioning of the netball courts at the Windsor Park Sports Stadium's forecourt as well as the successful hosting of the netball ballerama," she added.
Melissa Skerrit stated that the world joined us and enthusiastically followed the live social media feeds of the local tournament. She invited people to support the team at Windsor Park Sports Stadium Forecourts, Roseau, for the 2nd OECS/ECCB International Netball Series Competition.
"As a result of this exposure, the OECS/ECCB chose to host its netball tournament in Dominica. This will be a first for Dominica. I invite all to join in and support our team as they hit the courts from February 11th to February 19th 2022," said the parliament representative.
Prime Minister of Dominica, Dr Roosevelt Skerrit, also stated that hosting the Eastern Caribbean States/Eastern Caribbean Central Bank (OECS/ECCB) International Netball Series Competition would help popularise the game in the country. He called the event "a positive move" for sports in Dominica.
PM in his previous Annou Pale episode also invited the public to come forward and make the event a remarkable success in the country.
Earlier, the OECS/ECCB competition was earlier scheduled to be held in Antigua and Barbuda in November 2021.
