Antigua and Barbuda: A woman has been found with cannabis in breast and cocaine in vagina at the V.C. Bird International Airport. For this, she has been fined $25,000, or she has to be sentenced for a year in prison.
Such caught drug substances highlight the situations of drug trafficking in the country. As per the reports, it has come into light that the quantity found for both is 1.4 pounds of Cannabis and 42.5 grams of Cocaine.
A woman who has been found with this is Bright. And, she even admitted that she was doing all this to make money.
Legal action that has been taken on her with the $25000 penalty is for both Cannabis and Cocaine. It is $15000 for the supply of cocaine and $10000 for Cannabis. For this, she has been given the deadline of two years to pay or she will have to face an imprisonment.
The incident took place on May 30 when a woman was traveling through V.C. Bird Airport. On having found the drug substances, the depth investigation was held in respect to this.
The residents from the country are sharing their concern for the same. One of the citizens even mentioned, “I really think that she was lucky to just get away with what I consider to be a moderate fine. It is important that such fines for these infractions serve as a deterrent for others who might be tempted to try such a stunt. 25k is really peanut change for those willing to smuggle drugs in their private parts.”
Such words by a netizen says it all that with the quantity of cannabis and cocaine found with woman, can not be justified with such a small amount or the punishment. Strict action is required to be taken so such incidents can be controlled in the nation.
