WATCH: Roads flood after heavy rain in Barbados
Residents said water 'was a tragedy waiting to happen'
Heavy rain has brought misery to a number of communities, with Barbados flooding as drains fail to cope with the volume of water.
Karen Walker posted this video to her Facebook account.
Bagatelle Terrace in St Thomas was one of the areas badly hit yesterday.
Water had begun to recede by this afternoon but residents vented their frustration at the lack of prevention work undertaken.
“We have been complaining for years now. It’s horrible when we have rain," Winne Griffith, 69, told Barbados Today.
"I used to keep kitchen gardens in my backyard and I can’t do that anymore, because when the water comes over, all of my things get washed away, so I had to stop that."
