LATEST ON DOMINICA

WIC News has been told that least 24 people are known to have died but this number is expected to rise.

The medical situation is understood to be dire, with personnel from a number of Caribbean states heading in today to offer assistance.

Officials hope that larger relief plans will be able to reach Dominica's main airport by this weekend.

A fundraising effort – DominiCARElief – organised by Dominica’s high commission in London is underway. More information can be found and donations can be made at www.dominicarelief.org.
