Victims of Nevis double murder named by police
Two Cotton Ground men were killed on Tuesday afternoon
Police investigating a shooting that left two men dead in Nevis have named the victims.
Cotton Ground residents Elvis Lawrence, 21, and Shariff Williams, 25, died from multiple gunshot wounds.
Police are yet to arrest anyone in connection with the murder.
Nevis has now seen five murders in 2017, with four reported in St Kitts.
According to local reports, the pair were outside a bar when a vehicle approached the area.
The gunmen, wearing masked, exited the vehicle and shoot at Williams and Lawrence before fleeing the scene.
One man died at the scene, with the other dying while undergoing surgery at Alexandra Hospital in Charlestown.
Earlier this month Vance Amory, Premier of Nevis, moved to reassure those living on the island that crime rates would not continue to rise.
His statement came after the shooting of Rondell Chapman on 26 March and Morella Webbe on 17 April.
Both attacks happened in the Cotton Ground, and police have not charged anyone in relation to these killings.
