Charge after pizzeria robbed in Nevis
Second suspect remains in custody
Police in St Kitts and Nevis has charged armed robbery after a pizzeria in Nevis was targeted last week.
A second suspect arrested in connection with the robbery is still in police custody.
The juvenile, whose name and age have not been released, was charged in the presence of his father on on Saturday.
Officers in Nevis received a call just after 9pm on Wednesday, 25 April, reporting an armed robbery at Mem’s Pizzeria in Prospect Gardens.
On arrival, they found the staff and customers of the Pizzeria outside the establishment.
Officers pursued the gunmen in the direction of Brown Hill, catching them and finding a number of items that are believed to have been stolen during the robbery.
Police also disclosed they are looking for a person of interest for questioning after a firearm was found in Cayon, St Kitts.
Police conducting a routine patrol in Upper Cayon, began approaching a male in the area. He took off and ran through a nearby empty lot of land and managed to evade the officers.
“A search was made in the area where he ran and one Ruger SR9c was found with eleven rounds of ammunition inside. A search was also made in the surrounding areas for the suspect but he was not found,” a separate police statement said.
Nine firearms have been taken into police custody for the year so far.
