Truck overturns crushing woman to death in St Vincent

It is being reported that around 1 pm the vehicle was travelling from the direction of Diamond Public Road towards the Harmony Hall.
According to a source, the vehicle was midway up the hill when suddenly it began starting difficulties and began to roll back. The driver tried to steer the truck towards a wall, during which the victim jumped from the truck.
She was running downhill in an attempt to save her life, but the vehicle overturned and fell on her. A passerby reportedly informed the police officials who arrived on the scene with medical officials of the incident.The District Medical Officer of St Vincent pronounced Racquel Williams dead on the scene while the driver and two other occupants of the truck were saved without any injuries while the vehicle itself got extensively damaged.
The officials have said that a post-mortem examination will be conducted on the female to determine the cause of the death.Meanwhile, the police corporal Phillip King from the Department of Traffic said that the deceased was among five accidents reported over the Easter Weekend, causing concerns for the officials on the island. He also urged the drivers to pay attention towards their vehicles and drive in a safe manner.
On the other hand, the citizens and resident of St Vincent are expressing their sincerest condolences to the family of the victim who lost her life in an unexpected manner.“Deepest and Sincere condolences to the family of the late Racquel Williams. We are very saddened by her sudden passing. Keeping you in our Prayers. May her Soul R.I.P,” wrote a user, while another user named Samuel said, “Condolences go out to the family and friends. May God strengthen and comfort you during this time of sadness. Praying for you.”
