Trinidad welcomes whopping 2427 visitors aboard Jewel of the Seas on Tuesday

Of these thousands of passengers, around 700 enjoyed pre-booked tours to several of the island’s iconic sites and attractions which included the Maracas Waterfall, Maracas Beach, House of Angostura, The Botanical Gardens, Mt St Benedict, Caroni Bird Sanctuary, Paramin and more.

Trinidad and Tobago: The Port of Spain in Trinidad extended a warm welcome to around 2427 visitors who came aboard Royal Caribbean’s Jewel of the Seas on Tuesday. The cruise arrived on its regular visit to the island, and it headed to Tobago the next day.

Of these thousands of passengers, around 700 enjoyed pre-booked tours to several of the island’s iconic sites and attractions which included the Maracas Waterfall, Maracas Beach, House of Angostura, The Botanical Gardens, Mt St Benedict, Caroni Bird Sanctuary, Paramin and more.

To welcome the passengers, the team of Tourism Trinidad was on the ground, getting an inside look into the cruise passengers’ experience as they enjoyed an adventure at the Caroni Bird Sanctuary. The team showed them the best of the island and ensured that their stay was a safe and enjoyable one.

The passengers were also entertained by Moko Jumbies who were on the Port in colourful attires, while a few others went for river rafting.

Notably, the Jewel of the Seas will be making calls to the island every Tuesday during the ongoing Cruise Season in the Caribbean. [caption id="attachment_69337" align="aligncenter" width="375"] Cruise passengers explore Port of Spain[/caption] Amid a thriving cruise season, the Ministry of Tourism of Trinidad has announced that the average spending for the 2023-2024 cruise season is presently estimated at US$28 per person, which shows that the island is witnessing a major boost in the local economy because of the increase in passenger arrivals.

The Ministry said that they were delighted to welcome passengers of the luxury cruise to experience the energy and heritage of the destination. Additionally, the Jewel of the Seas Cruise Ship offers various excursions catering to different interests, ensuring that each passenger can tailor their experience to their preferences.

The continued arrival of this international vessel to the island showcases the increasing presence of Trinidad and Tobago on the world map. The cruise was the first to make a call for 2024 to the Port of Port of Spain and will continue to dock every Tuesday for the 2023-2024 cruise season.
