Thea LaFond, a Dominican athlete once again brought pride to Dominica. She won silver medal at Prefontaine Classic under Triple Jump Women.

Roseau, Dominica: Thea LaFond, a Dominican athlete once again brought pride to the country, Dominica. She won a silver medal at the 2024 Prefontaine Classic under Triple Jump Women.
LaFond who is Dominica’s first world champion Triple Jumper always remains at the forefront to make her people and nation feel proud. This time, she jumped with a distance of 14.62, and stood at second position at the Prefontaine Classic.
The two other positions that is first and third are bagged by-
- Leyanis Perez Hernandez bagged first position from Cuba, and
- Third is bagged by Shanieka Ricketts who is from Jamaica
Thea LaFond was born in 1994 and till the date, she has been doing great for the nation. She has brought several of the honors to the country. The list to the honours is-

- Commonwealth Games Silver medalist
- Pan American Games Bronze Medalist
