The Agriculture Open Day, St Kitts will be celebrated for two days, i.e. Thursday, April 25th 2024 from 9 am to 8 pm and Friday, April 26th 2024 from 9 am to 10 pm.

Basseterre, St Kitts and Nevis: The Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Marine Resources of St Kitts and Nevis is all set to host Agriculture Open Day at Royal Basseterre Valley National Park. This activity is a part of Easter Agri-Night which promises to promote local farmers by connecting consumers with locally grown products.

The Agriculture Open Day, St Kitts will be celebrated for two days, i.e. Thursday, April 25th 2024 from 9 am to 8 pm and Friday, April 26th 2024 from 9 am to 10 pm.

The event is a great way of promoting local cuisines and attendees of the event will be offered fresh produce, agro-processed goods, grilled seafood, fresh fish, tree mutton, ornamental plants, roast corn eating contest, Horseback riding, technical demos, Watermelon eating competition and many more.

Along with that visitors will also be offered live musical entertainment as a few of the renowned Caribbean artists will grace the occasion with their electrifying and enthralling performances.

The artists who will be performing include Hellfire Sounds, DJ Shaggy, EK Real Eight Entertainment and Nu Vybes Band International. They all have expressed excitement about performing for the crowd of St Kitts and Nevis.

Such an event highlights the commitment of the government to extend support to the local vendors and artisans so that they can display their products and gain exposure. It will lead to enhanced employment opportunities, which will directly contribute to the nation's overall development.

Moreover, the authorities of St Kitts and Nevis have always been determined towards fulfilling CARICOM’s aim of reducing food import bill by 25% by 2025. For the same, the administration of the island nation has taken various measures and has implemented several strategies with a vision to secure food sustainability and self-sufficiency in St Kitts and Nevis.

With the celebration of such an event, the administration also makes the citizens aware of the crucial measures to promote the agriculture sector which includes, preventing the spread of harmful plants, pests and diseases, and protecting the environment and health.

Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries, and Marine Resources Samal Duggins also extended an invitation to all the citizens for the celebration of the Easter Agri-Night and said, “Mark your calendars for the Easter Night Market on March 28th! From 5:00 pm to 10:00 pm, indulge in a night of entertainment, shopping, and delectable treats. Bring your family and friends for an EGG-STRAVAGANZA.”

St Kitts and Nevis has witnessed immense growth in the agriculture sector of the island nation, which reflects the unwavering commitment and dedication of Minister Duggins and the administration, who are all striving hard to meet CARICOM’s agenda 25 by 2025.
