Saint Lucia welcomes Mein Schiff 6 Valletta on inaugural call with 2636 visitors

The Ministry of Tourism of Saint Lucia was proud to extend a warm welcome to the luxurious cruise Mein Schiff 6 Valletta as it sailed into Port Castries for the first time. The cruise arrived on Tuesday with 2636 visitors and 923 crew members.

While sharing glimpses of the vessel’s visit to Saint Lucia, the Government outlined, “On April 3rd, 2024, Saint Lucia welcomed the Mein Schiff 6 Valletta into Port Castries for the first time! It was a beautiful day to welcome our guests from the Mein Schiff 6.”

The cruise brought a huge wave of excitement as tourists eagerly disembarked to explore the island’s various excursions.

The vessel’s captain Todd Burgman expressed his gratitude to tourism officials for the warm hospitality following a welcoming ceremony which was made special with exchanges of plaques between the ship’s crew and the tourism officials.

During the plaque exchange ceremony, Captain Burgman said that the Mein Schiff 6 is the epitome of modern efficiency in the industry and proudly announced plans for three additional vessels set to join the fleet in the near future.

He remarked that the Mein Schiff 6 represents the pinnacle of energy-efficient design, and the company is delighted to bring more cruises of this calibre to the market.

The Mein Schiff 6 boasts an array of several amenities, including a casino, seven restaurants, a theatre and a special entertainment lounge. Burgman also highlighted the cruise line’s participation rates in shore excursions, showcasing its dedication to providing guests with unforgettable experiences while contributing to the local economy.

Notably, the cruise first arrived in Barbados on Monday, followed by a trip to Saint Lucia before healing to Palma de Mallorca. Saint Lucia is now looking towards the end of the ongoing cruise season by the end of this month and is anticipating to end the season with an increased number of visitors than the last year.
