Prominent attorney Jamal Smith found dead with gunshot wounds in British Virgin Islands
According to the police, the untimely death of the attorney-in-law is ‘suspicious’ and led to a comprehensive investigation into the circumstances surrounding the tragic event which occurred with the 46-year-old.

A prominent attorney from the British Virgin Islands, Jamal Smith was found dead on Tuesday night with apparent gunshot wounds. The police officials reported that the lifeless body was found at his residence located at Manuel Hill, Tortola.
According to the police, the untimely death of the attorney-in-law is ‘suspicious’ and led to a comprehensive investigation into the circumstances surrounding the tragic event which occurred with the 46-year-old.
It is being said that the police got a call on Monday around 7 30 pm reporting about a shooting incident following which the officials conducted a thorough research. Initial reports revealed that the incident took place in the Manuel Reef area but upon arrival police found no evidence of any criminal activity.
The police added that investigations led them to the resident of Jamal Smith, where his body was found. The Royal Virgin Islands Police Force outlined that the victim was pronounced dead at the scene.The officials are saying that thorough investigations are ongoing to find what led to the murder of the attorney.
The revelation of the incident has sent shockwaves across the country with the friends and family of Smith expressing deep condolences on the demise of Jamal Smith. The Governor of the British Virgin Islands, Daniel Pruce, also took to Facebook to express their condolences and said, “I’m deeply saddened to see this. Jamal’s commitment to public service made an important contribution to the Virgin Islands. My thoughts are with his loved ones and family members. I would urge anyone with any relevant information to be in touch with the RVIPF.” Meanwhile, the Premier of BVI, Natalio D Wheatley expressed his sincere condolences on behalf of the Government and said that the entire community is in a state of shock. He also assured the family of the deceased especially his father Roy Smith, siblings Jarel, Sarai, Rokeem, Romoy and Kayasha Smith that investigations are ongoing to determine the cause of the incident.Latest
