PM Pierre thanks Taiwan for funding $5.6 million into different projects
Saint Lucia has secured grant funding of around $5.6 million from the Republic of China Taiwan through bilateral cooperation.

Prime Minister of Saint Lucia Philip J. Pierre thanked the Republic of China Taiwan for funding $5.6 million into four projects on the island. In an extensive Facebook page, he expressed gratitude and lauded the bilateral relationship between both countries.
He added that the funding will benefit the local Saint Lucians and is part of the Constituency Development Programme [CDP], "Through bilateral cooperation with the Republic of China, Taiwan, we have secured grant funding for four projects and the Constituency Development Programme [CDP] that will benefit the people of Saint Lucia."
Notably, this includes the funding into provisions for housing repairs for less fortunate, sports development equipment, rehabilitation of human resource centres and development of a national disability policy. Prime Minister Pierre said that Taiwan funded over $5.6into these projects, which will be further deposited into the Consolidated Fund.
He said that the Government of Saint Lucia is pleased for their continued support towards them, "We are grateful to the Government and the People of Taiwan for their continued support as we invest in the people of Saint Lucia," PM Philip.
Notably, PM Pierre has consistently tried to recognise and honour the Government of the Republic of China, Taiwan. He has always reflected upon their bilateral collaboration and close relations with them.
Previously, on January 16, PM Philip also posted a congratulatory message on his Facebook handle for the Government and the people of the Republic of China, Taiwan, on their democratically held National Elections.
In the post, he also mentioned, "I look forward to working with President-Elect H.E. Lai Ching-Te and Vice President-Elect H.E. Hsiao Bi-Khim in the future." Also, he expressed his commitment towards undertaking their nation's collective development and growth.
Meanwhile, Several social media user were seen pleased by the PM's thankfulness towards the nation and their bilateral relations of many years. In the comment section, a user, Sunshine Slacks, said, "Mr PM...the Taiwanese Government love Saint Lucia...but I think it's you they love more. They have no choice...you are so bent on putting us first...and such a humble mastermind of a man!

Another user added, "Philip J. Pierre ...I wish to be one of the citizens benefiting from these projects.... but it seems my kind are not encouraged to tk better to help themselves."
