The Caribbean air carrier LIAT have resumed their flights to Barbados, St Lucia and Grenada. At the same time, the flights to St Vincent would start from May 06, 2021 onwards. LIAT had suspended all its flights in the southern part of its network on April 9,2021 due to the volcanic activity in St Vincent. As the volcanic eruption in St Vincent had caused ash emissions, the airlines had to suspend the flights for a limited period. LIAT airlines stated in a press release that based on the volatility of the situation, passengers are asked to continue to monitor their emails, and LIAT’s website for updates and passengers who wish to reschedule are also advised to call their reservations call centre for further assistance. The airline will be working with the authorities to assist in relief and evacuation efforts into St Vincent until advised to stand down. The airline has stated that any further updates would be published on its website and social media platforms.

The management and staff of LIAT also extended their prayers and sincere wishes to the people of St Vincent and the Grenadines at the challenging times. The airline is currently under the administration of Mr Cleveland Seaforth of BDO and operates a limited schedule to nine destinations.
