Guyana: A man named Ralph Appiah of age 65 found dead in a trench at Palmyra. He was the resident of Lot 97, Palmyra Public Road, Berbice. Deceased wife stated that she left the home at around 8:00 pm to visit the wake house which is a stone’s throw away and she left the home when her husband, Ralph was sleeping.
Narrating the entire story, his wife added that just in a few minutes, she saw her husband walking on the street and when she asked him where he was going, he replied that he was going to purchase the cigerattes.
Then, she waited for a while for her husband to return and then went back home. And, as she went back, her husband was not at home which raised her concern and she was so worried. She then started searching for him but went unsuccessful.
She added that the next morning, one of the grandmothers visited her and informed that her husband was found in the trench. Such news made her go into a dilemma and she repeatedly started asking what color or shirt he was wearing. The grandmother added that the body found is wearing a red jersey and blue shirt pants.
As per the reports, the dead body was then taken to examine the marks of violence on the body and bruises were seen on several of the body parts, namely the right eye, right wrist, and behind the thigh.
Then, the case was taken to the Guyana police and they carried out the investigations and then the body of Ralph was removed by the undertakers. However, the police mentioned that no foul play is suspected.
The dead person’s wife then stated that her husband had liver issues as he was a heavy alcoholic. But, when he got to know of his illness, he stopped consuming alcohol. Considerably, the investigations are ongoing so could be reached to the depth of an incident.
