Dominica's 'Yes we care programme' bringing smile on elderly faces
Prime Minister of Dominica Dr Roosevelt Skerrit invited Mathilda Roy- Director of Yes We Care Programme, and Jenny Honore St Valle, Director of Chance in Annou Palay.

Who qualifies for the programme?
Mathilda Royer, director of Yes we care, stated that anyone could benefit from the programme; however, the supervisor carries out an application assessment by visiting the house. She said that after examination, a recommendation letter is signed and then forwarded to the designated minister for approval. The application can also be made on behalf of the individual who requires care.Functions carried out by YWC
Royer stated that the volunteers cleanse the home and immediate surroundings of the client, including changing bed sheets. While daily, the clients are helped with meals and administrating medications.Change in quality of life
The director stated that a change in the quality of life in people had been observed, and the elderly and disabled under the "Yes We Care Programme" now smile more often as they are taken care of in good hands.Author Profile
