Dominica: Coulibistrie car crash leaves driver dead
Accident occurred on late Saturday afternoon
A road accident in Dominica on Saturday afternoon has claimed the life of a 31-year-old man.
Zara Shaw, from Pottersville, was pronounced dead at the scene after the crash, which happened at around 5.40pm.
The car left the road in an area north of Coulibistrie.
“The driver lost control of his motor vehicle while travelling in a southerly direction on the Edward Oliver LeBlanc Highway,” said Pelham Jno Baptitse, the police public relations officer.
“The motor vehicle then collided with a mango tree.”
Investigations are ongoing, and an inquest will be convened.
The Commonwealth of Dominica Police Force extends its condolences to the family and friends of the deceased, Baptiste added.
