Chinese Ambassador Chu Moaming assumes office in Dominica

Chu Moaming, the new Ambassador of the People’s Republic of China to the Commonwealth of Dominica, arrived in the Nature Isle on Monday to assume office.

As the Ambassador arrived in Dominica, he was given a warm welcome by Ezra Thomas – the Chief Officer of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Business, and other representatives of diplomates from the Embassy of China.

On behalf of Dominica, Thomas welcomed Ambassador Chu to his office and expressed the country’s deep appreciation for the friendship between the two. She also noted that Dominica will keep abiding strongly by the one-China principle while enhancing cooperation with the Chinese Embassy.

She also said that the Dominican officials will provide support and assistance to Ambassador Chu throughout his tenure in the country. While assuming office, Ambassador Chu stated that he felt really honored to assume this prestigious position as the 7th Ambassador to Dominica. He said that this development is significant because it coincides with the 20th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic ties between Dominica and China.

In addition to this, the Ambassador said that over the last 20 years, both nations have respected each other as equals.

He added that both countries are working in various fields, and with increasing political mutual trust, exchanges, and cooperation in several fields, and deepening of friendship, the relations between China and Dominica have become a good example of South-South cooperation.

Meanwhile, Ambassador Chu Moaming also outlined that he is all set to co-consolidate the latest consensus reached by the leaders of both nations while working to enhance bilateral relations, practical cooperation and people to people exchanges between the two countries.

He said by working on all these points China and Dominica will achieve more results and deliver more benefits for the people of both nations.

It is to be noted that both the countries have been sharing a wonderful relationship for the last many years and look forward to deepening it with time.
