Busy weekend for fire and ambulance crews during St Lucia carnival
Fortunately there were no ‘major activities’
The St Lucia Fire and Ambulance Service has reported a busy carnival weekend with five reported fires and 99 ambulance responses.
The information is contained in summary of Fire Service responses for 14-17 July, which was released on Wednesday.
Among the more serious events were two fires.
One destroyed a house at Basse St Joseph and another destroyed a car in Anse La Raye.
Authorities also responded to an incident in Monchy involving the stabbing and chopping of a 76-year-old man.
The victim’s condition is unknown.
The Fire Department’s Northern Division responded to the majority of incidents, including 59 ambulance calls and two fires.
The report also states that there was no “major” activities or events over the weekend.
