Underage daughter said to be the victim
A police officer has been investigated and charged with incest, according to the Antigua Observer.
The officer has been remanded until Thursday to appear before a magistrate. He was set to go to court today but his lawyer was unavailable.
According to the charge, the corporal of over 20 years had unlawful sexual intercourse with his daughter who is 11 years old.
The incident has allegedly been ongoing for some time and the matter came to light after the child reported it to a relative.
The officer last performed duties at the St John’s Police Station on Sunday morning. A report was filed on Sunday afternoon and the policeman has now been pulled from his duties.
