Bath Estate shooting incident: court charged man from St. Joseph with murder

Roseau 7 August 2019: Weeks after the shooting incident at Bath Estate, police have now arrested a man. Notably, Marcus Fagan of Silver Lake was murdered by an unknown masked man at bath estate on 22nd July 2019. Released security footage of the incident shows that the victim was shot in the vicinity of a grocery shop at the area.

Head of the Criminal Investigation Department, Superintendent Davidson Valerie, told that police has charged Jervier Mason of St. Joseph for the death of Marcus Fagan of Morne Juane.

While stating at the state of DBS, Valarie said, “Following the shooting death of Marcus Fagan of Morne Jaune, residing at Silverlake on Monday, the 22nd of July 2019, I can report that the police has preferred a charge against Jervier Mason, male adult of St.Joseph.” Valerie said.

In addition to this, head of the Criminal Investigation Department also said that “Mason was brought before the magistrate court on 29th of July 2019, where the charges of murder were read to him. He has been remanded in custody and the matter will be discussed on December 12th,2019.

Valarie also stressed on the fact that police have been vigorous in terms of seeking out persons who are involved in this kind of unlawful behavior.  He also advised the people to solve their matters in a better way rather than turning violent and harming the atmosphere of a peaceful society.

While giving caution to criminally minded people Superintendent Davidson Valerie “I want to sound a warning to persons who want to make criminal activities their life. We, as a police department, will continue to work vigorously at bringing crime to it's minimal and therefore we want to urge people who want to use violence as a means to settle their differences, it is not to their benefit. It is not to [society’s] benefit and it is not a benefit to the country”.
