Huawei will not be excluded from 5G network in Dominican Republic
The Dominican Republic government has stated that it would not be banning Huawei from 5G networks in the country. The announcement was also made through the Dominican Institute of Telecommunications (INDOTEL). According to a  report, the international tender specifications for the implementation of 5G networks will also not be excluding the Chinese telecommunications giant.  The President of the Dominican Republic, Luis Abinader, declared that the 5G network aims to boost possibilities for the citizens of the nation through better connectivity. Besides this, he noted that usage of 5G, the newer and more durable bandwidth, also brings a ‘more convenient and comprehensive health system as well as smooth public spending.’ The President further added that “We are also scanning for a more aggressive, powerful, more connected Dominican Republic. The utilization of the 5G network will be a large move in the history of the country’s telecommunications community, which will render into an intense digital conversion. The leading company must complete a 5G-infrastructure deployment with national coverage at the end of five years.” For those unaware, Huawei has been suffering multiple accusations associated with national security from governments like the United States, the UK, and other countries in Europe as well.  The Chinese company has actively rejected these accusations and has even stated that its equipment will give basic guarantees to value the national self-determination and data security of the Dominican Republic. The separation method is registered for September 2021, and the 5G network will be expanded sometime in November 2021.
