Trinidad and Tobago police arrested 8 people during an Operation Strike Back exercise in the Port of Spain on Friday.

Trinidad and Tobago police arrests 8 during "Operation Strike Back"
Trinidad and Tobago police arrested 8 people during an Operation Strike Back exercise in the Port of Spain on Friday. The operation were conducted at 4am. Officials said out of the eight individuals, four people breached the curfew hours.

Yohansin Moses and Randy Castillo, a prisons officer were also arrested by PC Nunes around 10:35 pm on September 2nd while Sherron Joseph and a Woman Police Constable were arrested around 1:15 am on September 3rd by PC Drakes and Cpl Huggins respectively. Three of the four arrested were charged and appeared in court on Friday. The female Police Officer is expected to be charged later.

Also during the exercise, two persons were detained in connection with two separate incidents. A Duke Street resident was brought in on shooting investigations while a resident of East Dry River, Port of Spain was arrested for a common assault and shooting with intent.

Two more men were also detained after a pistol and ten rounds of nine-millimetre ammunition were found searching an apartment at St. Paul Street, Port of Spain. Investigations into the find are continuing.

The exercise was coordinated by ACP Gaffar, Snr Supt Nobbee and W/Snr. Supt. Cooper. It was spearheaded by W/Snr Supt Lancaster-Ellis, Supt Kissoonlal, ASP Walker, Insp Rajkumar with supervision by Supt Smith, Sgts Alexander and Knott. It included officers of the Port of Spain Task Force. Port of Spain Criminal Investigations Department (CID) and the Canine Unit.
