Ernest Hilaire hold talks with hotel investors, cruise liners and more as SLP aims to revive economy

Castries, St Lucia: The Deputy Prime Minister of St Lucia Ernest Hilaire, shared the weekly report of his work. He shared that he had meetings with several investors who aim to construct new hotels in the country.  Discussing in detail, Hilaire said on Tuesday a high-level meeting with a major cruise line discussing their plans to return and expand in Saint Lucia. "Five years have gone by and nothing much has been achieved, so action is needed to kickstart. Our approach is to build on what has been done and put Saint Lucia first and foremost in decision making." stated the Deputy Prime Minister.  On Wednesday, Deputy Prime Minister visited his Castries South constituency. Hilaire said he also had two two investor meetings before hitting the road to his constituency. Discussing his meetings, he said he had a discussion with a party for a revival of agro-processing in Soufriere. Besides this, his second meeting was with the investors' group with approval to construct a hotel at Pointe Seraphine.  Hilaire said he would be delivering a statement to Parliament at the soonest on this project. Discussing further, he said Thursday was a big day with a briefing with CARPHA addressing protocols for cruise ships docking at St Lucian port, discussing the programme for Kweyol Heritage Month, discussing the creative industries programme as we prepare for public consultations to budget discussions. "The highlight of the day was meeting with the Galaxy Group, which has the approval to build two hotels and residences at Canelles. Again, the approach is to clear the hurdles and move forward by putting Saint Lucia first."  On Friday, Prime Minister Philip J. Pierre and Ernest Hilaire met with Desert Star Holdings to discuss the future of the 'Pearl of the Caribbean'. Hilaire said it was a frank and transparent discussion.
