People gathered in large numbers at the Queen’s Park Savannah, Trinidad, demonstrating against the government for making the vaccine. After the protest inflamed, police squashed the demonstrations.
On Thursday morning at around 10.20 am, officers of the Port-of-Spain Division observed several groups of people converging at the QPS in what appeared to be an organised manner.

The police said there was a breach of COVID-19 protocols at the site.
As per reports, over 175 people gathered in Port-of-Spain to protest against the COVID-19 vaccines. The protestors made their presence in several groups.
Police officials captured a person who headed the demonstrations. He was taken to Belmont Police Station, where senior police officers conducted further enquiries. But, after examinations, he was released.
Besides this, another person was arrested for failing to wear a face mask in public places. Officials said they had warned of the breach of the Public Health Regulations.
Supt (Ag.) Kissoonlal stated that the police were at the scene to ensure everyone’s safety and security and strongly recommended that they adhere to the law.
People have opposed the action of the protestors; many people went on to social media and thrashed the government for not allowing people to protest. The police maintained that they were just there to simply ask the demonstrators to adhere to protocols.
