Twelve members for Labour Youth Organisation elected: Melissa Skerrit

Parliament representative from Roseau Central announced the selection of twelve members for the "Labour Youth Organisation" through recently held elections.

Roseau,Dominica: Parliament representative from Roseau Central announced the selection of twelve members for the "Labour Youth Organisation" through recently held elections. She joined Prime Minister Dr. Roosevelt Skerrit, during the selection process of these members. Melissa Poponne Skerrit-who is also the wife of Prime Minister Dr. Roosevelt Skerrit, stated that she is always eager to work with the constituents who have potential; she noted that the Roseau Central constituency is blessed with vibrant youth.

Mrs. Skerrit announced that the recently held Labour Youth Organization's (LYO) elections led to 12 budding leaders being placed as executive members of LYO.

Parliament representative from Roseau Central, Mrs. Skerrit, recalled her days as an ordinary member of Roseau Labour Youth Organization a few years ago.

"This reminds me of myself as an ordinary member of the Roseau LYO a few years ago, intent on working with others to improve the city. My active involvement at the community level helped pave a path to the electoral arena."

Furthermore, she also congratulated the team members elected to work for Labour Youth Organization and stated that she is looking forward to great work with them.

LYO is the youth wing of the Dominica Labour Party, which currently holds the government of Dominica under the leadership of Prime Minister Dr. Roosevelt Skerrit.

The Labour Youth Organization works closely to achieve the developmental goals in several goals and assist their parliament representatives in further advancements.

Mrs. Melissa Skerrit herself used to be a member of the Labour Youth Organization and supports more significant upliftment of the youth wing. She extends her support to the LYO at all fronts and states that Dominica altogether is blessed with exceptional talent.

Nowadays, it has become eminent for political parties to have a youth wing to get the support of the young blood of the country in order to reach a more extensive audience to share fresh ideas.
