Nevis unveils schedule for most anticipated 50th Culturama Festival

St Kitts and Nevis: As the island of Nevis is all set to celebrate 50 years of Culturama Festival, the organisers have unveiled the calendar of events. The festival which began in 1974 is a significant part of the island’s historic culture and will be held from April 12 to August 6 this year.

The main festival will be held from July 5 to August 6, 2024, but the activities will begin as early as April 12.

According to the information, the schedule of activities include various events such as the launch activity, Pan Year, Mr and Ms Talented Youth Pageant, Homecoming Day, Street Parade and much more. To make the golden jubilee of the festival much more exciting, the organisers have called upon Los Angeles based actor who is also the Tourism Ambassador Nevis, Nikeva Stapleton.

This year, the organisers have also added Pan Yard as part of the festival which is an activity designed to promote the appreciation of Steel Pan music in the community.  The event series takes place on the last Sunday of every month at the Malcolm Guishard Recreational Park, and features local steel pan groups as well as performing artistes backed by steel pan music.

The Culturama Festival will celebrate the culture while embracing the rich history of Nevis. Throughout the celebrations, the island will be filled with colours, music and dance.
