Dominica: 1357 people recovers from COVID-19, while 70 more test positive
As per reports, over 70 people tested positive for the virus between 3rd and 4th September in Dominica, while 1357 recovered.

The Dominican ministry of health, wellness and new health investment stated that 16 people tested positive through RT-PCR testing, while the remaining 620 were tested using the Antigen method.
The reports suggested that 53 people were discharged from medical facilities, and 1357 recovered from coronavirus islandwide.
The health authorities noted that the country also recorded five virus-related deaths, and all the deceased were unvaccinated. The National Epidemiologist Dr Shalauddin Ahmed had also mentioned in a recent press conference that 75% of total positive cases are not vaccinated and are symptomatic. The authorities said the youngest COVID-19 patient in Dominica is a 3-month-old baby while the eldest is 103 year-oldSince 2020, Dominica recorded 1998 confirmed coronavirus cases, while the majority of these came after July 2021.
The government set up various testing centres across the country, which are functional almost 7-days a week. The officials have been able to test 53518 individuals while only 1998 came positive.
The vaccination drives of Dominica are also going at a decent pace. The data revealed 22,688 people received the first dose of the vaccine, while 20,373 are fully vaccinated against the COVID-19. The vaccine is being provided at seven major health centres islandwide. The health department also provides at-home or office vaccine services where officials will visit the place and vaccinate the people.Dominica is also due to start vaccinated 12-year-olds and above, using the Pfizer vaccine. The Prime Minister Dr Roosevelt Skerrit urged the parents to get their children vaccinated as parental approval is necessary. The virus-related cases continue to increase in the country, several new buildings are also retrofitted in Portsmouth to accommodate the additional patients.
