St Kitts & Nevis to get 5,000 more doses of COVID-19 vaccines: PM Harris
Prime Minister of St Kitts and Nevis confirmed that his government has secured an additional 5,000 doses of the Oxford/AstraZeneca coronavirus vaccines during National Address to his people.

Prime Minister, at the beginning of his address, extended special thanks to nurses and all healthcare professionals who contributed to the success of the country's vaccination programme.
He also informed that, in the first phase of the vaccination programme, a total of 41,850 doses of the vaccines were administered to citizens and residents in the SKN.Also, 22,937 adults or 69.4 percent of the target population, received at least one dose of the vaccine and 18,913 adults or 57.2 percent received both doses as is required to complete the regimen.
Prime Minister Harris reminds all that the pathway to economic recovery depends on a high proportion of the population getting vaccinated and on everyone adhering to the established protocols.While his address, he also informed latest coronavirus conditions in the Island nation; as per the PM, the Island of Nevis recorded two positive cases of COVID-19 this week. Cases number 16 was recorded on Tuesday, June 29 and case number 17 for the island was recorded on July 01.
Additionally, Nevis, as of Saturday at 6:01 pm, will be under 24-hour lockdown and will have days of limited operations coinciding with the same days on St Kitts over the next week.Moreover, The period of the enhanced restrictions on Nevis will run until 5:00 am on Monday, July 12, 2021, in the first instance.
Notably, these restrictions on Nevis will expire at the same time as the restrictions on St Kitts.Prime Minister also stated that his government expected to announce soon several relief measures to alleviate some of the difficulties being faced by the poor and vulnerable in society.
